Fontane erzählte in seinen „Wanderungen durch die Mark Brandenburg“ von der alten Nedlitzer Fähre, die schon Ende des 17. Jahrhunderts mit einer schlichten Holzbrücke ersetzt wurde. König Friedrich Wilhelm IV. (1795-1861) ließ an dieser Stelle eine von Oberbaurat Ludwig Persius entworfene massive Steinbrücke bauen, die 1855 eingeweiht wurde. Fast 150 Jahre später wurde aufgrund der gestiegenen Verkehrsbelastung ein Neubau unumgänglich. Seit 2003 steht hier eine Spannbetonbrücke, deren Austritte einen Ausblick auf die reizvolle Seenlandschaft ermöglichen, den Fontane bereits vor 200 Jahren beschrieben hat.Quelle: www.potsdam.de
